Terms and conditions

Setup note (remove before taking real bookings): the registered trader
name, address and tax ID are still placeholders in
src/lib/contact.ts. EU consumer law requires a real trader
identity on these pages once you accept deposits.
These terms cover private shore excursions booked through Greece Shore Excursions. In short: requesting a tour costs nothing and commits you to nothing. A booking exists only once we confirm availability in writing and you pay the €50 deposit. The balance is paid on the day of the tour. You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before your port date, and you are refunded in full if your ship cannot dock. Greek law applies.
Who you are contracting with
Greece Shore Excursions arranges private shore excursions in Greece. Full registered trader details are published here before any deposit is taken.
We arrange and coordinate tours delivered by vetted local licensed guides and drivers. Where a tour is delivered by a partner operator, we remain your point of contact for the booking and for anything that goes wrong.
How a booking is made
- You send a request through the site or by message. This is free and non-binding.
- We reply within 4 hours with availability and a firm total price.
- A contract exists when you accept in writing and pay the €50 deposit. Until both happen, nothing is reserved.
- The balance is paid on the day of the tour, in cash to the driver or as otherwise agreed.
Prices
Prices shown on the site are per group, not per person, unless the tour page says otherwise, and are the starting price for the smallest group size. Your quoted total is fixed once confirmed and will not change afterwards. Entrance fees, meals and optional extras are only included where the tour page lists them explicitly.
Your responsibilities
- Give us your correct ship, date of port call and guest count. Wrong details are the main cause of missed tours.
- Be at the agreed meeting point at the agreed time.
- Tell us in advance about mobility needs, allergies, or anything affecting the itinerary.
- Carry valid ID and any documents your cruise line requires for going ashore.
Timing and your ship
Every itinerary is planned to return you to the port with a margin before all-aboard time. We monitor your vessel's actual arrival and adjust the plan to the hours you really have. See the cancellation policy for the back-to-ship guarantee and what happens when a ship is delayed or cannot dock.
Changes and cancellations
Set out in full in our cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
Liability
We are liable for arranging your tour with reasonable care and skill, and for the acts of the operators we assign to it. We are not liable for events outside our reasonable control — weather, sea conditions, port closures, strikes, civil unrest, cruise-line itinerary changes, or the decisions of your ship's master. Our total liability for any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking, except where the law does not permit such a limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
We strongly recommend travel insurance. It covers the losses these terms cannot.
Complaints
Tell us during the tour if something is wrong — most problems can be fixed on the spot. If not, write to us within 30 days and we will respond within 14 days. As an EU consumer you may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Greek law, and the courts of Greece have jurisdiction. This does not remove the consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
